Neon Colony

Neon Colony is a tower defense game where you develop a reasonably uninhabited planet for your kind corporate benefactors. Plan your roads, extract the planet's resources and deal with any unruly and most definitively evil aliens in a diplomatic manner.

Game features

• Build your own road! Each new road tile can be rotated and replaced as you see fit to gain full control over the planet's surface - though replacing comes at a cost.
• Discover more valuable resources further from your city, but also more dangerous enemies. 
• Use your resources to power advanced towers - unless you would rather sell them for intergalactic credits, which can be used to buy one of the 100+ upgrades to your towers, city or economy.
• Deal with alien ruins and artifacts that can drastically change the nature of a run.
• Unlock and choose one of 15 governors to govern your colony, each with unique advantages and downsides.
• There is a challenge to each run, which can start with 1-4 lanes, depending on your level of greed and with 15 levels determining how hospitable the planet is.
• Easy to learn, with 5 optional tutorial levels that gradually introduce the game elements to you.
• Play as you want! Finishing a run does not require meta-progression, with all essential upgrades available from the start.

FAQ

• Is this the full game or a demo? It is the full game! We aim to sell it somewhere down the line, adding some features like achievements, but this is complete game at this point.
• I really like this game! How can I support the devs? Great question! You can of course donate, which is really appreciated! But more importantly, we would like to get some feedback on the game. What works? What does not? Is it worth publishing on a larger platform? What could be improved in that case?
• Is the game finished or are more updates expected? Another fine question! We do not know. We have worked on the game intensively for the last year and a half, coinciding with a period where I had relatively little to do. Currently, that no longer holds true. So how much will be still be added depends in a large part on whether people like the game. Nothing motivates like an audience!
• I hate the game! Well, that is not a question, but any such sentiments expressed in the form of constructive feedback can be very helpful, of course. 
• If you do ultimately release it on, say, Steam, what does that mean for my Itch version?  We don't know yet. That is quite far away and might, in the end, not happen. For a possible Steam version, we will incorporate achievements and perhaps add some characters and skills, but there are currently no plans to drastically increase content. The Itch version will then remain free, but will not give you an automatic Steam key.
